President Dianne M. Rozak called the October 31, 2011 special meeting to order at 3:00 p.m., with Ms. Rozak, Mr. David M. Hirt in attendance. Mr. Charles B. Scott was excused.
Fiscal Officer Shelley Seamon and Rita Mahler attended also.
The purpose of the meeting was to determine if the township would participate or not in the Group Retrospective (Group Retro) rate program, which is administered by Frank Gates Avizent for worker’s compensation.
Ms. Rozak said that Frank Gates Avizent had a 4:00 p.m. deadline and that is why the meeting time was changed from 6:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Ms. Rozak said she had notified those residents and newspaper reporters that regularly attended of the time change for the special meeting.
Ms. Rozak and Mr. Hirt discussed briefly what they had learned from Fiscal Officer, Dave Robenstine, which was that Harris Township very pleased with the program and that originally one single claim had made the township ineligible to participate in a regular group rate program.
Ms. Rozak asked Mrs. Seamon if Mr. Scott had offered an opinion regarding the matter,
Mrs. Seamon said that Mr. Scott was concern whether this was the application or if it was the actual acceptance to allow the township to participate. Mrs. Seamon said that Mrs. Biro confirmed that by signing the contract the township would be accepted to participate in the Group Retro program.
Ms. Rozak moved that Danbury Township would participate in the Group Retrospective rate program, with Frank Gates Avizent as the third party administrator for worker’s compensation. Mr. Hirt seconded the motion. All voted yes. Motion carried.
Ms. Rozak moved to adjourn the meeting at 3:05 p.m. Mr. Hirt seconded the motion. All voted yes. Motion carried.
